Cogmo Swimming Lessons Terms and Conditions

By enrolling your child in and participating in Cogmo swimming lessons you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Swimming teachers are only responsible for children during their swimming lessons and parents/guardians are responsible at all other times. The swimming lesson begins when the swimming teacher accepts charge of participating children and ends when the lesson finishes. At that point, all parents/guardians must resume responsibility for their children.
  2. Parents/guardians must remain at the pool side whilst their child is in their lesson.
  3. All children, including siblings not participating in the lesson, must be supervised at all times when not in the water and accompanied in the changing rooms by a parent/guardian.
  4. In order that each lesson begins punctually and so that the participating child gets the benefit of the whole lesson, parents/guardians should ensure they arrive with their child on time. 'On time' means the child is dressed in swimming costume and is poolside ready to begin the lesson at the lesson start times of quarter to and quarter past the hour.
  5. All children who want to swim in the “free swimming” space must be accompanied in the pool by a swimming adult with the exception of those children who are enrolled in the 16:45 and 17:15 groups. These children are competent swimmers, and their parents can observe them from the side of the pool. None of the swimming teachers are responsible nor does Cogmo accept any liability for children taking part in the free swimming section. Parents/guardians must not leave such children unaccompanied or unsupervised in the swimming hall.
  6. Parents/guardians must refrain from distracting teachers during lessons. If parents/guardians want to discuss their child’s lesson please do so after the end of the lesson.
  7. If your child is unwell we recommend that you do not bring them to a swim session as they will not benefit or enjoy it.
  8. The swimming teacher may employ reasonable measures as are necessary to maintain the smooth delivery of the class. Cogmo reserves the right to request that your child should be removed from classes should they persistently disrupt or are seen to be putting themselves or anyone else at risk during the class.
  9. Cogmo reserves the right to appoint a new teacher at any time and will notify you accordingly. We may, at times (without notification) need to provide an alternative teacher for a class or classes due to illness or for any other unforeseen circumstances.
  10. Cogmo is not responsible or liable for any loss, theft or damage to personal property left at the pool premises.
  11. In the unusual event of a pool closure, a credit note will be given in lieu for lessons cancelled.
  12. As the swimming pool is part of the primary school, the swimming lessons follow the school terms and holidays.
